Oh- Bark -Thirty

Mike is out with some of our friends and I am here in our home where it is currently quiet! Again, last night it was barking dogs or more specifically one barking dog at our immediate neighbors. Two calls to the Sheriff produced no relief since the people would not answer the door. We are beginning to understand the torture effects of sleep deprivation.

Our animal control guy finally, after a week, made contact with these neighbors by leaving a voice message asking which member of the household wanted their name on the citation he was going to issue. During the course of the conversation our neighbor referred to us as "those ass-hole neighbors". Awesome, a new nickname. Like I care. Two years we've tried to deal with this on our own and now because we just want to sleep we are...well you know. Our "guy" suggested to the neighbor that perhaps he'd like to tell a judge what kind of people we were who wanted to sleep all night without a dog barking. I'd like to be there for that. So, there was promise of a bark collar. We'll see. I'm sick of it.

We will see how tonight goes. I think we've had something like 5 or 6 nights this month where we've been able to sleep all night. Wish us luck.

Peace
and quiet please
Karen

I'm happy to hear that Dalf (sp) finally was able to make contact. You know, you and Mike can be Ooooohhh ssssooooo unreasonable, how dare you think you have a god given right to sleep. Hopefully, this will produce some results for you without repercussions from the neighbors.

Keeping peaceful thoughts for you both.

You are doing what you can to get the neighbor to change, which is important and well done. But the problem of getting enough sleep still remains. Just a suggestion, but finding a comfortable pair of earplugs might do the trick in the short term. Earplugs have helped with our situation here with Mark when we have nurses taking care of him so we can sleep. I don't have to respond to the alarms from his medical equipment, but I still hear them and I wake-up without the earplugs. Sleep depreivation can drive you crazy and nothing to joke about- been there and done that!! Earplugs are a low-tech solution for me. Take care from your friends in La Crosse.

I would have killed the dogs by now. You are too nice. I'm a cat person and still we gave away our cat Wyatt when he got too loud. Now we have Wilson who we promised Nina we wouldn't give away in the same manner...or any manner. Anyway, now we have a beagle next door who seems to be in agony most of the day though we know she is not. I feel your pain. Hope it gets better yesterday.
